America21 invited to White House ‘Tech Inclusion’ Roundtable

America21 co-founder Chad Womack, Ph.D., will attend the invitation-only “Tech Inclusion” Roundtable hosted by the White House Office of Public Engagement and Office of Science and Technology Policy(OSTP) on August 21, 2012 in Washington D.C. at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

The Tech Inclusion Roundtable is a discussion of the issues that impact the capacity for all youth to have opportunities to participate in the technology sector, particularly those from under-served and historically under-represented communities.

OSTP statement about the Tech Inclusion Roundtable:

Broadening the talent base in the technology fields will fuel American innovation, driving creative new applications of technology that will advance our social and economic well-being.

Our goal is to share information about promising practices and brainstorm potential breakthrough ideas with a group of key individuals.

America21 is honored and excited to be invited to provide input in this important discussion. Dr. Chad Womack is an exceptional leader in the STEM education space and serves as America21′s Managing Director and Chief STEM Innovator. (See Dr. Womack’s bio).

Most recently, Dr. Womack produced and led a STEM Summit in Philadelphia consisting of education thought leaders and community leaders at the Philadelphia School District. Dr. Womack’s extensive experience, passion and vision for STEM Education as the inclusive on-ramp to a high-wage workforce and high-growth, high-tech entrepreneurship is a unique and valuable part of the roundtable.

The White House Tech Inclusion Roundtable is hosted by Todd Park, Assistant to the President, U.S. Chief Technology Officer.
